BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN II
Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, perform general maintenance and construction duties related to the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of District buildings and facilities and related systems and components; independently perform swimming pool maintenance duties; perform general mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, locksmith, painting, and carpentry duties; oversee and evaluate the work of contractors; and perform a variety of related duties relative to the assigned area of responsibility.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in the building trades or a related field AND three (3) years of increasingly responsible general facilities maintenance experience including experience in pool maintenance.
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification is preferred.
SALARY & BENEFITS:
R. 16 Step 1-6, $3,453.00-$4,199.00. Initial placement for external applicants is Step 1. An excellent benefits package which includes medical, vision, dental, retirement, vacation, generous sick leave package, and life insurance is available for the employee and eligible dependents.
WORKING DAYS & HOURS:
Monday-Friday: 6:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (approximately). Work schedule may be adjusted to meet the needs of the department.
As soon as the successful candidate is identified and following the subsequent governing board approval. Successful candidate may be assigned to any of the campus sites (Chula Vista, Otay Mesa, National City and/or San Ysidro).
