Overview: CAEL is seeking a sales professional with a proven track record of successfully selling higher education services or products, who can work independently and with CAEL’s Higher Ed and LearningCounts™ team to market, sell and deliver products and services to higher education institutions, systems and higher education associations. S/he must be focused on meeting specific revenue, operational and strategic goals, as well as the overall success of CAEL’s suite of  higher education products and services.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify strategies and tactics to generate revenue for PLA services, including cold and warm calling to create leads
  • Contact former and prospective CAEL clients regarding possible purchase of PLA and higher ed product offerings
  • Utilize well-established relationships with senior academic leaders to generate new leads
  • Manage academic partners, including:
    • Contract signing and renewal
    • Relationship building and client satisfaction and maintenance
    • Upsell CAEL’s services when appropriate
  • Meet or exceed sales goals and client retention quotas
  • Manage incoming leads and inquiries including tracking all sales activities in CAEL’s CRM
  • Present at local, regional, and national conferences and other meetings to raise awareness of PLA and LearningCounts™
  • Work with marketing in the development of new sales materials to generate new leads
  • Manage lead and pipeline reporting to Vice President of Higher Ed Engagement on a weekly and monthly basis
  • 25-50% Travel Required
  • Operates out of a remote office
  • Other responsibilities as required

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree required
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a postsecondary institution or related setting required
  • Minimum of five years’ experience with direct sales
  • Familiarity with Prior Learning Assessment preferred

 

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Excellent online presentation skills (using GoToMeeting.com, Adobe Connect, etc.)
  • Ability to develop and close business with colleges, universities and higher education associations
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Desire to exceed expectations and show initiative and creativity
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
  • Superior client relationship skills
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and work autonomously
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
