The Director of Operations for the Graduate Programs in Education will assist the Dean/Director of the programs (M.A.T, M.Ed. and, Ed.D.) by providing leadership in developing operational systems that interface with the College of Professional Studies (CPS), Northeastern University (NU), and outside institutions/companies where applicable and in alignment with the strategic goals of the education programs, the College and the University. The Director of Operations will systematize and execute processes for managing all curriculum designs and redesigns to ensure the curricula are engaged in continuous improvement and are relevant in the field, aligned with strategic goals and responsive to the market. The Director of Operations for the Graduate Programs in Education will review and analyze enrollment statistics with the Dean/Director and propose systems to enhance enrollments and strategize regarding the academic relevance and financial viability of program offerings. In this capacity, s/he will manage a team of Program Managers in order to ensure consistency and continuity of operational efforts across the entire portfolio. The Director of Operations for Graduate Education Programs will work collaboratively with the Director of Academic Operations for the College to standardize systems across all academic programs where relevant.
Bachelor’s degree required in education or related fields in social sciences with 8 - 10 years of experience and 4 - 6 concurrent years of operational/management experience; preferably in higher education and with adult learners or in a high customer service environment. Master’s degree preferred. Ability to meet timelines, deliverables, and exercise independent judgment. Strong leadership and effective communication skills are a must. Must be able to work well with many constituents: students, faculty, academic managers, and program offices from deans to support staff. Teamwork and strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; and ability to understand and design operational processes are required. Coaching experience desirable. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required. Experience using enterprise systems such as Salesforce, Peoplesoft and Banner a plus.
