Position Summary -

Guilford College’s Department of Business invites applications for an assistant rank tenure-track position in Management to begin August 15, 2018 primarily to teach courses for undergraduate students. We are a future oriented dynamic department accredited by Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and currently offer a B.S. in Business Administration and minors in business, marketing, human resources, and money & finance.
We seek a colleague with an MBA and a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Business with emphasis in Management. We will also consider candidates with an M.B.A. and a J.D. with substantial management experience. ABD’s with a firm completion date before August 15, 2018 will be considered. We seek a colleague who has an emphasis in management and another area and can contribute broadly to the business program.
Responsibilities include teaching day and evening courses in a variety of formats. Candidate must be able to teach in more than one management field likely including but not limited to International Business, Principles of Management, Quantitative Analysis, Business Ethics, and Management Information Systems. Other responsibilities include advising students, business curriculum development and assessment, and active involvement in efforts toward continuing accreditation. College expectations also include teaching in the college’s general education and interdisciplinary programs as needed, scholarship, and service.
A candidate should demonstrate classroom teaching success, relevant work experience, and potential for relevant scholarly activity.
