Business Intelligence Developer
Description: The University of Illinois Foundation seeks a Business Intelligence Developer.
Duties: Design, develop and support Blackbaud CRM reports and analytics for the Advancement community at the three University of Illinois campuses and the Foundation. Assist in defining and executing projects in a team environment, working closely with the Business Intelligence Lead Analyst under direction of the Associate VP for Planning and Policy Analysis. Responsible for creating reports and analytics using Microsoft Reporting Services, Blackbaud SOK, and Blackbaud Data Warehouse (BBDW) that are delivered to end-users via the University Foundation's Tracking and Engagement Database (TED); Actively participate in the development of SQL scripts to create and maintain data structures that support reporting and CRM applications; Ability to assist metadata development and data modeling in order to translate business requirements into robust reporting and analytic tools; Interact with business users in various functional areas to gather and interpret requirements to ensure that information products satisfy business needs; Work closely with the BI Lead Analyst and UIF IT Department to deploy and maintain BI software and metadata repositories; Together with other BI team members, advise the Associate Vice President regarding the development and the use of new BI products and services.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field. Three (3) years experience as Programmer Analyst, BI Developer or closely related which includes using Microsoft Reporting software (SSRS, SSAS, Visual Studio tools, etc.), MS SQL including advanced ability to write SQL and T-SQL scripts, stored procedures and functions, understanding of data modeling, including relational, star schema, and snowflake design principles, and the ability to design data tables and marts to support a range of information products from simple reports to advanced analytics, experience with a variety of data sources and input/output formats, understanding of OLAP and related technologies, translation of business needs into technical solutions.
