Job Description: Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, invites applications for a one-year, post-doctoral position, beginning Spring Semester 2018. The successful applicant will be responsible for advancing one of several projects involving acene organic semiconductors, including experimental design and performance, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.
Qualifications: Applicants must have received a Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, or related field within the last 5 years. The position requires significant previous experience in several of the following areas: organic semiconductors, HV/UHV equipment, IR/IRRAS/PM-IRRAS, quartz crystal microbalance, furnace crystal growth, XPS, x-ray diffraction (single crystal). It is desirable for the candidate to have some experience with organic reactions on surfaces. In addition, the applicant must demonstrate a willingness to work with undergraduates in a research setting.
