Postdoctoral Researcher Position: Chemistry and Biochemistry

Job Description: Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, invites applications for a one-year, post-doctoral position, beginning Spring Semester 2018. The department offers Ph.D., M.S., and ACS-approved B.S. degrees. For more details about the department, visit http://www.luc.edu/chemistry. The successful applicant will be responsible for advancing one of several projects involving acene organic semiconductors, including experimental design and performance, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.

Qualifications: Applicants must have received a Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, or related field within the last 5 years. The position requires significant previous experience in several of the following areas: organic semiconductors, HV/UHV equipment, IR/IRRAS/PM-IRRAS, quartz crystal microbalance, furnace crystal growth, XPS, x-ray diffraction (single crystal). It is desirable for the candidate to have some experience with organic reactions on surfaces. In addition, the applicant must demonstrate a willingness to work with undergraduates in a research setting.
