Position Summary: The Division of Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine at the UNC School of Medicine is recruiting for a faculty member to provide clinical services for geriatric and critically ill patients and conduct research in cognitive function following acute illness. Duties include, but are not limited to, attending on pulmonary and critical care and geriatric inpatient services and conducting clinics in pulmonary and geriatric medicine. The individual will conduct research relating to acute delirium in hospitalized inpatients and long-term outcomes of critically ill patients. The individual will submit grants to federal agencies for independent funding to support these studies.

Education Requirements: Applicants must hold an M.D. degree, be Board Eligible or Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, and Geriatric Medicine.

Qualification and Experience: Candidates must have a record of excellence in research training as demonstrated through publications and skills relevant to obtaining extramural grant research as well as completion of fellowship training in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
