Minimum Preferred Qualifications: The University of Alabama College of Education Department of Educational Studies in Psychology, Research Methodology, and Counseling Program in Educational Psychology Position: Associate/Full Professor in Educational Psychology (Tenure Track) The Educational Psychology Program at the University of Alabama invites applications for an open rank professor position in Moral Psychology and Character Education. We seek a scientist who can contribute to the focus on personality and social development offered by our program. The area of training is less important than a demonstrated research focus in either moral psychology, or character development as they are relevant to education broadly defined. Applicants interested in serving as director of our Center for The Study of Ethical Development are especially encouraged to apply. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., educational psychology, psychology, sociology) Evidence of research productivity Evidence of external funding or potential for external funding (depending on rank). Interest in educational applications broadly defined Ability to work with students and faculty in a variety of disciplines Strong writing and communication skills Commitment to working with diverse populations Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrated general knowledge and experience in teaching Educational Psychology * Evidence of participation and visibility in national professional organizations * Interest in serving as the director of the Center for the Study of Ethical Development.
