Reporting to Associate Director of Design, the Designer will create high-quality, actionable and cutting-edge digital and print marketing and communications designed to elevate Temple's reputation for a variety of platforms and audiences. Collaborates with content, multimedia, web and digital strategy teams to produce powerful materials that visually communicate and support Temple's strategic messages, align with strategic goals, and are user-focused, valuable, engaging and measurable. Helps guide the work of less-experienced, Junior Designers. Performs other duties as assigned.Required Education & Experience: A bachelor's degree and a minimum three (3) years' experience or equivalent freelance experience with an impressive portfolio; a combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: * Superior communication and interpersonal skills. * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy of work. * Demonstrated ability to effectively and collaboratively work as part of a cross-functional team. * Superior organizational skills-must be able to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines. * Excellent project management, analytic, communication and diplomacy skills. * Must be able to work well under pressure. * Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, including the ability to establish cooperative working relationships with supervisors, colleagues and campus partners. * Ability to attend staff events as needed (including occasional nights and weekends). * Proficient knowledge of current Macintosh design programs such as Creative Cloud. * Proven ability to visually communicate projects goals and objectives. * Extensive knowledge of digital and print design best practices. * Ability to bring knowledge of cutting-edge/fresh design techniques, approaches and ideas to each project. * Ability to conceptualize and organize complex projects/publications, such as magazines. * Critical attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure and among shifting priorities. * Demonstrated skill in typography, pre-press and preparation of print-ready files. * Retouching and/or color correction experience a bonus.
