Duties: The Camara lab ( is a new laboratory focused on the development and application of innovative computational approaches to the study of cellular heterogeneity and its role in cancer. We draw ideas from various quantitative disciplines and combine them with the use of high-throughput single-cell technologies and large-scale population studies to improve our understanding of the cellular composition and cell-to-cell signaling networks of tumors.

We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the research program of the laboratory. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the principal investigator to carry out genomic experiments.
Main duties include conducting experiments using techniques of molecular biology, biochemistry, cell culture, tissue histology, and tissue dissociation; documenting, compiling, and analyzing information obtained from laboratory experiments; interacting with the core facilities of the Perelman School of Medicine; and ordering and overseeing laboratory supplies and equipment. When necessary, the individual will be assisted in the implementation and application of techniques of single-cell transcriptomics and fluorescent in-situ hybridization by other laboratories of the Department of Genetics. Additionally, depending on performance, skills, and interest, the individual will have the opportunity to learn basic computational techniques from other members of the laboratory. The position is thus an exciting opportunity to work at the interface of basic and translational research in a collaborative and stimulating environment, and to gain experience in a broad range of techniques at the cutting edge of computational, single-cell, and cancer biology.

Qualifications: * B.S. or B.A. and 1 to 3 yrs of laboratory experience in molecular biology in a research or related setting.

* Competence in research methodologies.
* Ability to multi-task, think critically and work independently.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Good interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.

* Master's degree in Biological sciences.
* Experience with high-throughput single-cell technologies.
* Interest in computational biology.
* Familiarity with R and/or Python programming languages.
