COORDINATOR FOR DISABILIY ACCOMMODATIONS
Duties: Coordinate legally mandated accommodations and auxiliary services for Penn undergraduate, graduate and professional students through a variety of services, including accommodated exams. Provide support to the Director of Student Disabilities Services and the Associate Director for Disability Accommodations to ensure smooth service provision, office operations and the implementation of federal and University mandates and policies. Coordinate the procedures necessary for the smooth operation of the complex services related to the proctoring of accommodated exams, arranging notetakers, and other auxiliary services. Communicate and provide outreach to faculty and staff across the University's twelve schools to schedule and implement accommodated exams and other services. Assist in the hiring, training and supervision of student workers including notetakers, and proctors. Participate in office policy decisions related to the provision of accommodations. Support for exam accommodations may include some early morning or evening hours as needed.
Qualifications: High School degree required, BA/BS preferred plus 5-7 years experience, preferably in an academic setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of basic computer software, including Windows suite, and experience with databases required. Ability to interact in a professional manner with diverse constituencies; excellent organizational skills and communication skills required. Detailed oriented. Ability to work additional hours as required.
