FLSA Status: Exempt – Executive
Provides educational leadership to the Academic Affairs & Student Learning Department. This person leads and manages Career Technology Education.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist the Vice-President with career technology education development and evaluation.
Assist the Vice-President with the organization, development, and coordination of active advisory committees for all CTE programs.
Assist the Vice-President and Director of Institutional Research with reports and follow-up studies as assigned including Dual-Credit and the annual Program Reviews report for the Illinois Community College Board.
Serve as the liaison and coordinate 3 year internal program review and 5 year ICCB program reviews.
Maintain current knowledge of all pertinent rules & regulations affecting CTE.
Assist the Vice-President in the development and approval of general education (transfer) courses.
Maintain and supervise reports and records related to accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission and ICCB.
Update & coordinate course description and numbering system for ICCB.
Assist the Vice-President and divisional chairs in developing academic schedules.
Assist the Vice-President in evaluating tenured faculty, including in the CTE programs.
Assist the Vice-President in resolving student concerns.
Oversees SCC Plays and Patrons of the Arts.
Oversight of part-time CTE Programs lacking a division chair; Automotive, HVAC, Basic Electricity, Truck Driving, Nail Tech and any other newly developed program.
Organize catalog updates and revisions.
Interface with post-secondary institutions to coordinate programs, develop articulation agreements, implement dual-credit opportunities and expand the opportunities for all learners to access appropriate learning opportunities.
Assure compliance with HLC and the Dual Credit Quality Act
Assist the Dual Credit Coordinator with programs through high school and college faculty.
Represent the college in ICCB, HLC, and Academic Institutions and related entities as appropriate.
Serve on assigned college committees.
Coordinate professional development activities for the instructional divisions.
Follow all college policies and procedures.
To perform other duties which may be required by the Vice President of Academic Affairs & Student Learning and/or President (related duties as required are duties that may not be specifically listed in the class specification or position description, but that are within the general occupational services and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's class of work).
Serve as supervisor to the staff and faculty as assigned.
Master's Degree in Higher Ed Administration, or an Academic discipline.
Knowledge of current trends and best practices in Higher Education and Budget Development.
Experience in Higher Ed program development and Higher Ed accreditation.
Minimum 3 years successful community college experience.
Demonstrated experience in data analysis intelligence & statistical analysis. Specifically enrollment, budget & program development and cost analysis.
Supervisory experience of professional staff.
Experience in program and curriculum design, student assessment, partnership, development, budget management, community college operations are preferred.
Ability to use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, email and database software.
Doctorate in Educational Administration, Higher Ed or Academic discipline.
Ability to apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
3 Years successful community college experience in curriculum
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Preferred experience organizing business & industry training activities.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Minimum mathematical ability associated with this job:
Ability to read and interpret statistical data.

Modified summer schedule (Four – 10 hour days Mon. – Thurs, Fridays off)
