Assistant Professor of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science at Lafayette College invites applications for a tenure-track position in computer science, to begin July 2018.  We seek applicants who are grounded in computer science and able to teach systems courses. A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field in hand or near completion, a strong commitment to teaching, and demonstrated record in research are required. Salary is competitive.

The Department is an ABET-accredited program with six full-time tenure-track faculty positions, offering BS and BA degrees in computer science, as well as minors in computer science and computational methods.  Faculty interests range from theoretical to applied computer science, including tutoring systems, computational geometry, and natural computing.  The department is very supportive of interdisciplinary work and consistently collaborates with other college departments to support computation in all its many forms. The teaching load is four courses in the first year, and five courses per year thereafter.  Funding for conference/research travel is available, as well as the EXCEL Scholars program which supports student research with faculty.
