General Summary: The University of North Georgia's College of Education is currently accepting applications for dynamic individuals to join our professional community as a tenure-track faculty line, specializing in Elementary Education - Literacy, in the Teacher Education Department. The primary teaching location will be in a Professional Development Community on or near the Dahlonega, Cumming, or Gainesville campuses with the possibility of additional locations, as needed. Course assignments may be face-to-face, hybrid, or online.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be a member of the Elementary and Special Education Program, which is housed in the Teacher Education Department and includes undergraduate, graduate, and endorsement courses.
- The faculty member is expected to teach specified courses, prepare course materials, provide support and guidance to students, foster professional relationships with public school partners, maintain records pertinent to accreditation, and supervise students in completing field placements.
- Commitment to a collaborative curriculum development model is expected.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- The successful candidate must have familiarity with teaching, learning, and education theories; a commitment to being a collaborative member of a PDC model
- Knowledge of current national standards
- Ability to work collegially with other members of the faculty and utilize opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration; and professional written and oral communication skills.
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
- Required qualifications include a doctorate in Literacy Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or a closely related field.
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience in K-6 schools is required.
