Tenured / Tenure-track position as Business Law Specialist - all ranks
The Department of Accounting invites applications for a full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty appointment (at assistant, associate or full professor) commencing September 1, 2018.
This position is seeking candidates with a J.D. (or equivalent), admission to the Bar and related work experience. Candidates are expected to possess a strong knowledge of business issues. Demonstrated expertise in teaching business law is preferred. Candidates who have an ability to teach in additional areas such as taxation, compliance, ethics, and negotiation are preferred.
Candidates should have a J.D. (or equivalent) from an ABA-approved law school. Applicants are also required to be admitted to the Bar. Applicants should possess or have the potential to attain an outstanding record of teaching, research and service or alternatively experience as an executive leading a legal or related enterprise in a complex setting. Candidates should have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research and service. The successful applicant will be required to teach both undergraduate and graduate business law classes. Qualified candidates may also be asked to teach in the areas of taxation, compliance, ethics and negotiation. Successful candidates will be expected to develop new programs and course offerings in law-related classes for the accounting department and maintain scholarly engagement in their respective field. In extraordinary cases, as determined by the University, a terminal degree may not be required.
