Quinnipiac University, located in Hamden, Connecticut, seeks an innovative, experienced nursing education leader to serve as its next Dean of the School of Nursing. As the school's chief academic and administrative officer reporting to the EVP/Provost, s/he will be committed to providing visionary and effective leadership and fostering excellence in teaching, scholarship and service.   This is an extraordinary opportunity for an experienced academic leader to build upon the SON’s successes while working to expand its inter-professional programs. 

Quinnipiac’s School of Nursing ( serves over 1,000 graduate and undergraduate students.  In collaboration with colleagues in the Center for Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, SON creates innovative, inter-professional, educational experiences that prepare students for today's healthcare challenges.  One of the few schools in the nation to be holistically endorsed, SON emphasizes the psychosocial and spiritual aspects of care as well as the physical. 

Quinnipiac ( is a nationally ranked, private, coeducational, non-sectarian institution located 90 minutes north of New York City and two hours from Boston. The university enrolls 7,000 full-time undergraduate and 3,000 graduate and part-time students in 100-degree programs through its Schools of Business, Communications, Education, Engineering, Health Sciences, Law, Medicine, Nursing and College of Arts and Sciences. 

The ideal candidate will be a leader in nursing education with a track record of supporting the growth of nursing education, teaching, faculty development, accreditation and professional standards.  Minimum requirements include a doctorate in nursing education or related field, prior administrative experience within an academic setting and sufficient teaching, scholarship and service track record consistent with appointment at the rank of Professor in nursing.  A solid clinical foundation is required.
