Technical Support Specialist
The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing computer hardware and software technical support and consultation to faculty, students, and staff within the Center for the Performing and Cinematic Arts (CPCA), which includes the Boyer College of Music and Dance and the School of Theater, Film and Media Arts (TFMA). Primary responsibility is to support CPCA with outstanding customer service while trouble-shooting IT issues, teaching, providing administrative support, and performance-related IT activities support in the Boyer College of Music and Dance through computer installations, maintenance of computer equipment and printers, software updates and software installations in labs, smart classrooms, faculty and administrative offices, and conference rooms. Additionally, the Technical Support Specialist provides similar support functions to the School of Theater, Film and Media Arts on Center-wide initiatives in conjunction with other tech staff. The Technical Support Specialist should be familiar with both Apple and Microsoft PC hardware and software, including various multimedia software programs, including such programs as Adobe Cloud, Pro Tools, Final Cut Pro, Microsoft Office, Canvas LMS, WebEx, HTML 5 and Drupal, and other specialized arts-related software (Sibelius, Finale, among others). Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related field, and one year of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills and Abilities:

*Ability to properly execute computer and printer hardware and software installations.
*Ability to trouble-shoot computer problems, recommend and initiate solutions.

*Ability to create and maintain databases of computer and printer hardware and software.
*Ability to dismantle and recycle computer and printer equipment. Preferred:
*Background in music and/or other Performing Arts.
*Experience with Social Media, Drupal, and HTML 5.
