Duties: The Public Engagement Assistant provides administrative support to implement interpretive programs and work related to visitor services, outreach, and audience development. Reporting to the Director of Public Engagement, the Assistant works on programs related to exhibitions, special events, as well as community and campus meetings. The Public Engagement Assistant assists with planning and execution of special events and outreach, processes payments and tracks expenses for the department, trains part-time visitor services and events staff, and assists with preparation of reports. The ideal candidate will be flexible, open, and have experience working with diverse populations. Experience with Basecamp or other project management software, working with volunteers, and working with youth or university communities preferred.

Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred with 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Must demonstrate a high level attention to detail and ability to create systems plus establish and maintain collaborative and professional relationships with all ICA stakeholders, including guests, staff and volunteers. The candidate should be comfortable and quick to learn software. Experience with standard office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required. Project management software (i.e. Basecamp) and Adobe Creative Suite a plus. An interest in contemporary arts and engaging broad communities preferred. Candidate should take direction well and work effectively within a small team.
