The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Women's College Hospital (WCH) Division of General Internal Medicine is seeking to recruit a Clinician Teacher or Clinician in Quality & Innovation. The successful applicant will be committed to a career in academic general internal medicine and should be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. Effective start date of appointment is July 1, 2018, or a mutually agreeable date.

The ideal applicant will hold an MD and FRCPC qualifications (or equivalent specialist designation) with certification in General Internal Medicine. The candidate must also have completed or be currently enrolled in a post-residency advanced training degree in education or quality improvement. The candidate should have a career focused on ambulatory medicine including the development and implementation of innovative ambulatory models of care and/or education innovation and curriculum development. The successful candidate should be an effective teacher, committed to sustained excellence in teaching and scholarly contributions to teaching and education. A proven track record of excellence in peer-reviewed publications, research grants, presentations at significant conferences, awards, and accolades is an asset. In addition, the ideal applicant will have excellent communication skills and have demonstrated capacity and aptitude for effective interdisciplinary clinical and scholarly team collaboration and interactions.

Applicants must have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Academic rank, salary and contractual arrangements will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Remuneration will also depend upon the academic rank, qualifications and amount of clinical work performed but will be in the usual range for an academic internist in the Province of Ontario at a minimum of approximately $200,000 - $250,000 per year.
