Required Qualifications:
Doctoral level training in Counseling or Clinical psychology from an APA accredited program; completion of an APA accredited internship, preferably in a college/university counseling center, completion of a supervised post-doctoral experience meeting Texas licensure requirements by start date; licensed or license eligible to practice psychology in Texas. License must be obtained within 18 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional experience in a college/university counseling center and current licensure preferred. Other preferred qualifications include experience supervising doctoral interns or practicum students, interest in working with diverse college student populations in a university setting, and skills and experience in one or more of the following areas: men's issues, Latino populations, veterans, alcohol/substance abuse, the application of technology in college/university counseling centers, Educational Programming/Outreach, and/or complex mental health issues

Job Description:
Responsible for counseling students with personal, psychological and college adjustment problems

Job Duties:
Provides individual and group counseling/therapy for personal, psychological, and adjustment issues; provides crisis intervention; conducts some psychological assessment as part of the therapeutic process; develops and implements educational workshops; consults with faculty, staff and concerned others regarding student problems; works collaboratively with other departments in Student Affairs to provide quality services to students; may conduct Counseling Center staff development seminars; represents the Counseling Center on Division and University committees and teams and participates in Student Affairs programs as assigned.

The Counseling Center has an APA accredited doctoral internship program in psychology, as well as postdoctoral residents. The individual in this position will supervise doctoral interns and postdoctoral residents and will participate in training activities as assigned by the Director of Training
