General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Teaching Assistant for the Summer Scholars program. The Teaching Assistant will assist teachers of STEM and humanities classes with lesson planning, small group instruction, and academic and physical education activities during the four -week academic program. Fluency in Spanish strongly desired and preferred.

This position will begin 05/14/18 and will end 06/28/18.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Teaching Assistant will:

  • Attend pre-planning sessions in May
  • Lead physical education activities
  • Assist students during arrival, lunch and dismissal times each day
  • Participate in hands on STEM and social studies activities and projects
  • Attend all field trips
  • Keep a daily journal
  • Attend daily planning meetings

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • High School graduate. Must be currently enrolled in college. Current UNG students preferred.
  • Preferred successful completion of Educational Foundations Courses
  • Total of 20 hours fieldwork with K-12 students is preferred.
  • Spanish fluency preferred.
