Position Summary: The Department of Ophthalmology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is accepting applications for a fixed-term Optometric position with a focus on Pediatric Optometry. Academic rank and salary are negotiable based on qualifications and experience. This position will provide comprehensive eye exams with emphasis on pediatrics; teach ophthalmology residents optics, contact lenses and refraction; work closely with other clinical Ophthalmology faculty; provide contact lens care for all types of athletes referred by Sports Medicine.

Education Requirements: Prerequisites include successful graduation from an American School of Optometry and licensure to practice in the state of North Carolina.

Qualification and Experience: Qualifications include demonstrated excellence in pediatric patient care skills, contact lens prescribing experience, and excellent professional references. Experience with specialty contact lens fitting is desirable. Consideration will be given to candidates with experience managing patients with medically indicted specialty lenses including, RGP, scleral, and therapeutic bandage lenses.
