Digital Content Technician

Primary Function of Organization Unit: Extension Information Technology provides technology leadership for North Carolina Cooperative Extension (NCCE) including 101 off-campus extension centers. Responsibilities include managing county extension center computer systems and wired and wireless networks; developing web applications to serve the programmatic needs of NCCE and funding partners; maintaining web and application servers; providing information technology and video education to employees; and collaborating with campus, eXtension, Southern Region and national partners to provide technology solutions for Cooperative Extension.
Essential Job Duties: This position will provide dedicated support to extension content providers using the extension content management system to enable rapid content delivery to serve our stakeholders. Supported individuals will include extension specialists, agents, administrators and staff. The position will work with extension specialist teams to develop and maintain portals on specific topics in support of extension priorities. The position will review and edit HTML and CSS coding of web content within the Extension content management system and related applications to ensure content is ADA compliant, web responsive and compliant with current HTML and CSS standards. The person will also work with extension content providers to build their understanding of custom content management system features and integration solutions and to keep their content current and discoverable. *Please note that this is a time-limited position for a maximum of 3 years.*
Department Required Skills: * Experience with HTML5 and CSS, including ability to write and edit HTML code, Wordpress or similar content management systems. * Ability to comply with ADA regulations. * Attention to detail, ability to work independently and prioritize projects, time-management, and organizational skills. * Proficiency with Web browsers, e-mail, cloud based word processing and spreadsheets. * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships. * Strong problem-solving skills. * Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: * Knowledge of agriculture and/or NC State Extension * Bachelor's degree
