Primary Function of Organization Unit: Client Solutions provides customer facing IT services and solutions for students, faculty, and staff of NC State University. Services provided include IT Service Management, ServiceNow application development, server and application maintenance and support via the Hosted Services team, development of secure computing environments, cloud computing architecture and design, and desktop support.

Essential Job Duties: The NCSU Junior ServiceNow Developer is a part of a rapid application development team, building enterprise applications using the Platform as a Service (PaaS) delivery model. The Developer should demonstrate an understanding of ServiceNow best practices and how ITIL processes can be successfully implemented in the tool. The Developer will gather input needed to develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope. Interface with all levels within the client organization and apply excellent communication skills. The Developer is responsible for managing development projects and reporting status of those projects to management. The Developer works in a team atmosphere with absolute transparency.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Associates degree or higher in Information Technology. At least two years of experience with JavaScript including usage of jQuery, Bootstrap and AngularJS frameworks; HTML experience. Experience with JavaScript including usage of jQuery, Bootstrap and AngularJS frameworks; HTML experience. Experience with integration (interfacing) of enterprise software systems with ServiceNow. Knowledge of system design and development used within Service Oriented architecture and web services integration (SOAP, WSDL, JAXWS). Practical experience in the full software development life cycle: analysis, design, coding, testing and promotion into production. ServiceNow System Administrator Certification ServiceNow Developer or Implementation Certifications Strong working knowledge of ServiceNow components such as Service Catalog, Change/Incident/Problem Management, Asset Management, CMDB, Knowledge, Release Management, etc. Demonstrable knowledge of ServiceNow Best Practices Experience in multiple ServiceNow implementations and have developed custom applications Experience implementing systems using the Agile/Scrum methodology Experience with scripting in ServiceNow (Business Rules, UI Pages, UI Macros, etc.) Experience with the Service Catalog module Experience developing Service Portal with JavaScript Experience creating request forms, developing integration with external systems, implementing security (including Access Control Lists) Ability to enhance the user interface to provide a custom look and feel
