Primary Function of Organization Unit: North Carolina State University Department of Social Work (http://socialwork.chass.ncsu.edu/) offers baccalaureate and master's level education to a diverse student body of approximately 350 undergraduate majors and graduate students. We are located in the Research Triangle Area, in Raleigh, North Carolina. The BSW Program prepares graduates for generalist practice. The MSW advanced generalist curriculum prepares graduates with advanced competencies in social work practice, leadership, and innovation in the delivery and evaluation of health and human services. Essential Job Duties: The North Carolina State University Department of Social Work invites applications for a full-time faculty position, tenure eligible, beginning August 16, 2018. Primary teaching responsibilities in the BSW programs. To advance research, publications and scholarship in the areas of social work practice. Additional faculty responsibilities include regular advising of students, curriculum and program development, active research and publication, university service, and community engagement.
Minimum Education/Experience: - A doctorate in social work or a related discipline completed as of the date of application and MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, with at least 2 years of post-MSW practice experience - Demonstrated ability to teach social work courses and engage in scholarly research; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and national reputation and professional activities in social work education and practice.
Department Required Skills: - A doctorate in social work or a related discipline completed as of the date of application and MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, with at least 2 years of post-MSW practice experience - Demonstrated ability to teach social work courses and engage in scholarly research; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and leadership acumen.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: A well-explicated research agenda, including evidence of funded research, publication, national and/or international reputation and activities; experience teaching social work practice courses.
