Position Summary: This is an administrative management position responsible for coordinating, planning, organizing, and directing the custodial functions, business services functions, inventory, and warehouse functions within University Housing Facilities. This position oversees all related building services activities for 22 residence halls dispersed throughout the UGA campus, Family/Graduate Housing, Greek Housing and the Health Sciences Campus as well as the business functions for the Housing Facilities unit. This position provides leadership, direction, and oversight of the Department's interior design elements and purchasing of appropriate furnishings. Responsibilities also include the direct supervision of two (2) Building Services Superintendents, a Business Services Coordinator, a Warehouse Supervisor and indirect supervision of 97 custodial and administrative staff members.

Responsibilities: 1. Provides leadership and direction to ensure Housing facilities are maintained in excellent condition. 2. Develop and implement planned custodial project schedules and activities to insure facilities meet or exceed standards. 3. Ensures rapid and effective response to customer driven requests. 4. Encourages subordinates to take personal responsibility for their areas, thereby improving their professional standing. 5. Supervises the 2 Building Services Superintendents, the Housing Facilities Business Coordinator, Procurement Specialist, and Warehouse Supervisor. 6. Directly supervises 2 building services superintendents including the effective recruitment, screening, hiring, training, and discipline. 7. Indirectly supervises over 90 custodial staff members including employee relations and response to grievance issues. 8. Responsible for program development, employee relations, staffing plans, communication and compliance with organization policies and procedures as these relate to the cleaning of facilities and cross-facilities integration and consistency. 9. Plans, prepares and executes the Department budget for custodial labor, equipment, supplies, furniture, and flooring. 10. Develops cost effective and time efficient solutions for cleaning efforts for Housing residence facilities insuring that buildings meet or exceed the Department's custodial cleaning standards of APPA Level 3. 11. Leads green cleaning efforts in cleaning product purchases and techniques. 12. Reviews monthly expense reports to recognize trends and respond in a fiscally appropriate manner. 13. Develops, implements, and coordinates with Facilities Management an integrated and effective pest control plan and process.
