Duties: This is a highly skilled, integral position within the Office for Students that carries the responsibility for the management and oversight of the registrar duties for the entire Veterinary School. This position manages the major aspects of the School's curriculum, including enrollment, tracking and grading. This position requires a high level of advanced skill with data manipulation and query manipulation, including the School's curriculum software system (E*value), the University's Student Registration System, the University's data warehouse, Access, Excel, the School's Educational site (Learn.Vet), and the School's scheduling site (EMS). This position requires a high degree of attention to detail, the ability to work on several projects simultaneously and the ability to work with and strategically coordinate the efforts of a diverse faculty and staff on two campuses. The selected applicant must be familiar and experienced in working with numerous types of data bases and have a thorough working knowledge of the School's curriculum and how the curriculum interfaces with faculty, students and staff. This position will also be the Lead Representative for Penn Vet for UPENN's Registrar's office in the new PIT-NGSS/Banner project. This consists of attending on-campus meetings and providing the University Registrar's Office with accurate and up-to-date information on Penn Vet's registration practices to ensure a smooth transition into the University forthcoming next generation Student Systems (NGSS). Position will be responsible for managing Penn Vet's new online externship website. Responsibilities also include scheduling all classes and laboratories and maintaining the School's Room Reservation site. Position must oversee the collaboration and communication with students and both clinical and didactic faculty from both campuses and their assistants.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position requires a high level of advanced skill with data management, data manipulation and data queries, including Moodle/Lime database, excel, access and other survey tools. The position requires the ability to learn, understand and manipulate new data bases including the School's event management site, the school's educational site and the school's curriculum software ware program.
This position requires a high degree of attention to detail, the ability to work on several projects simultaneously, the ability to plan and manage the workload through annual academic cycles, skills in judgment and analytic decision making, excellent communication skills, the ability to work in close quarters and as a member of a team, and the willingness to work overtime during times of high work volume.
