Texas A&M University-Central Texas was born in the spirit of community cooperation on May 27, 2009 as a member of The Texas A&M University System, one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation. The faculty member will teach primarily undergraduate courses in Psychology, though teaching of some graduate (master’s level) coursework in Psychology may be required as well. Additional responsibilities may include student academic advising; engaging in university, department and community committees and other kinds of service; and conducting research and scholarship activities. This is a professional-track position. Summer appointment is not guaranteed and is contingent upon University need.


  • Doctorate approved by the University and recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools as appropriate to the area of Psychology;
  • Ability in the discipline and clear promise of teaching excellence as evidenced in evaluation by peers, department head, and college dean;
  • Must possess the minimum credential standards of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), which include at least 18 graduate semester credit hours in the subject area or suitable approved justifications.


Graduate training that would qualify an applicant to teach in one or more of the following areas: behavioral statistics, behavioral research methods, biopsychology, history of psychology, developmental psychology, or writing in psychology.
