DIETETIC TECHNICIAN, REGISTERED
Position Summary: This is technically skilled dietetic work assisting in providing and assessing food service management or nutritional care services. An employee allocated to this class of work assists the University of Georgia Dining Services Associate Director of Culinary Development ("Executive Chef") and the Registered Dietitian with upkeep of nutrient and ingredient database, nutrient analysis, menu planning, recipe development and assists with administration of Dining Service's menu management software program. The incumbent exercises discretion and independent judgment in performing routine tasks although advice and assistance are readily available from professional personnel. Work is performed under general guidance by the Associate Director of Culinary Development ("Executive Chef") and the Registered Dietitian.
Responsibilities: Maintaining nutrient and ingredient data base, ensuring product accuracy.
Qualifications: Graduation from a four year college or university with a degree in home economics preferably with major course work in dietetics and nutrition; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
