Project Manager Interior Design
Position Summary: This position provides interior design, space planning, project management and support to the UGA campus community and the Office of the University Architects for Facilities Planning (OUA). This role will lead OUA's interior design activities and meet stewardship responsibilities for design excellence, campus image, appropriateness, comfort & durability. These goals will be met in part through interior finish & furniture selection, design review/support of OUA capital projects, and partnering with many units like University Housing, Georgia Center, for Continuing Education and Hotel, Dining Services, etc.; project management at all phase of interior renovation projects; assist with identification & resolution of punch list, warranty & defect issues; and supervision of interior design staff.
Responsibilities: Lead interior design, finish & furniture standards and procedures. Meets with vendors & representatives for furniture & interior finishes. Builds relationships with vendors & manufacturers, understands the products in the marketplace, state contract list, price points, durability, & appropriateness, etc. Provides monthly reporting on portfolio of projects and other reporting as required.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from an accredited interior design school. Minimum of 5 years of practical interior design experience, including project management.
