The Department of Management in the College of Business invites applications and nominations for the position of Lecturer. This position is located on the Statesboro campus.

In January 2017, the University System of Georgia Board of Regents voted to consolidate Armstrong State University and Georgia Southern University. The new, 27,000-student university will be named Georgia Southern University with campuses in Savannah, Statesboro, and Hinesville. Within this setting, the College of Business seeks to produce career-ready professionals by offering a broad array of high quality undergraduate and select graduate programs in a learning environment characterized by inspired teaching, relevant research and meaningful service. The Department of Management offers a BBA in Management with a concentration in Hospitality.

Position Description. Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Management, the Lecturer position is primarily a teaching appointment with a strong service requirement. The ability to contribute to a positive collegial work environment in the Department, College, and University is expected, as well as a strong orientation to recruiting, retaining and mentoring qualified Hospitality students. The position is a 9-month, non-tenured appointment, beginning August 1, 2018, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:
• Earned master's in Business Administration (MBA), or Hospitality, or a closely related field, with 18 graduate semester hours in Business or Hospitality, by August 1, 2018.
• Faculty must be qualified initially, and continually, according to AACSB guidelines.
• Evidence of effective communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without assistance from the institution.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Doctorate in Hospitality or Business-related field.
• Graduate degree from an accredited AACSB or EQUIS institution.
• Teaching experience in Hospitality, Management, or other closely aligned Business field.
• Hospitality industry experience

Screening of applications begins February 16, 2018, and continues until the position is filled. The preferred position starting date is August 1, 2018.
