Position Summary: The Department of Sociology at UNC-Chapel Hill is seeking to hire a Teaching Assistant Professor. This is a two-year fixed term position with a 3-3 a teaching load. Successful candidates should have a record of outstanding teaching and will be expected to teach a mix of lower and upper division undergraduate courses.
Education Requirements: PhD in Sociology or relevant discipline
Qualification and Experience: We seek a faculty member who can contribute to one or more areas of department instructional needs: lower level courses (e.g., Intro/Sociological Perspectives, Race and Ethnic Relations) and those that meet the requirements for our major in Management and Society (e.g., Stratifications, Organizations, Economic Sociology), minor in Social and Economic Justice, and/or our new minor in Health and Society (e.g., U.S. Population Health). There is flexibility in the specific courses, depending on an instructor's interest and background.
