IHP Research Lab Manager (STAFF)

Major Responsibilities:

The Brain Recovery Lab at the MGH Institute of Health Professions has an opening for a highly motivated research lab manager. Responsibilities include being an active team member in the Brain Recovery Lab's daily activities include leading all aspects of study coordination and implementation of several clinical research studies involving people with neurologic disorders. This individual will be responsible for research participant scheduling and communication with patients and healthy research participants, data management, drafting and maintaining regulatory documents, ordering of supplies, training and supervision of research assistants and volunteers, and assisting with grant and manuscript preparation and submission.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research process organization (developing optimal lab and study flow processes)5%
  • Study coordination (participant communication, screening, recruitment, scheduling)50%
  • Regulatory support (IRB submission and monitoring)10%
  • Data management / processing 5%
  • Manuscript and grant preparation assistance 10%
  • Training and supervision of lab staff 5%
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein 5%

Working Conditions:
General office and laboratory environment


Education & Experience Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
High level of componence with Office applications
Willing to learn new software applications (training provided)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively is essential
Experience working with patients or people with disabilities preferred but not required
Experience working in a clinical research laboratory preferred but not required

Required Skills:

Basic computer skills
Organizational skills
