Job Summary:
Perform basic, routine and advanced implementation, operation and maintenance of computer systems for extensive computer labs, sub-enterprise and enterprise systems; provides scripting for a variety of computer systems; administer and troubleshoot server domains; troubleshoot communications, video and network problems; research and evaluate software, hardware and peripheral purchase options; act as expert functional specialist; act as liaison between Information Technologies and the Institution by providing basic, routine, and advanced level technical expertise while working under minimal supervision. Perform, monitor and report backups and disaster recovery across the community college district.

  • Current physical data plant installation standards and techniques.
  • Powershell Scripting commands
  • SAN Technologies and administration
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Symantec Backup Software or similar backup solutions

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Standard office environment; routinely exposed to video terminal display; operates within a high stress environment;
  • May require being on call 24 hours per day
  • May travel occasionally to conferences, workshops, or outreach areas for professional development
  • Long periods of standing
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds from floor to desk and desk to floor


  • Associates Degree or higher in a technology related field or equivalent experience; required


  • Two years supporting computer systems in a large scale network environment; required
  • Two years of computer operating system install, maintenance and upgrade; required
  • Two years of network cable plant installation; required
  • Three years of computer hardware installation, repair and maintenance; required
