Associate Director for Strategic Management and Operations, UF Online, University of Florida
The University of Florida is seeking a dynamic manager to lead the strategic management functions for the growing, fully online undergraduate experience, UF Online. Launched in 2014, UF Online provides students with a digital pathway to university degrees and faculty through a highly selective admissions process. UF Online currently serves over 3,000 students with an operating budget of approximately $20 million. UF Online offers over 20 pathways to earn a bachelor’s degree and celebrates over 1,000 graduates to date, plus incredible enrollment growth of incoming students exceeding 30% annually. As this dynamic University pathway continues to expand it will retain and expand on its high quality model for student learning including a remarkable online student experience. UF remains committed to a high quality online learning model that include ensuring each student has a dedicated academic advisor, access to small online class sizes taught only by faculty from our main Gainesville residential campus, plus face to face experiential learning programs and opportunities.
Reporting directly to the Assistant Provost and Director of UF Online, this new senior administrator would lead efforts to ensure the strategic management of all UF Online operations during this time of transformative growth and beyond. With this recruitment, Director of UF Online is therefore seeking an experienced and strategic thinker to lead UF Online infrastructure, analytics and operations through this period of tremendous growth and change. The ideal candidate is an agile and adept manager that has a strong track record of personally delivering results plus experience designing and implementing critical cross-organizational management processes based on their own unique insight and creativity into the most effective management practices and business processes.
While leading management and operations for UF Online in areas such as planning, budget, finance, workforce, analytics and IT, this manager would ideally thrive on data and analytics but also possess strong management skills to build and motivate a team. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years experience managing people. Candidates with strong track records of leadership experience in higher education and in particular in online public higher education are strongly encouraged to apply. While higher education experience is welcomed it is not a requirement. Special attention will be paid to candidates with experience establishing and leading new organizations, supervising and coaching a cadre of senior managers and staff, and candidates with unique expertise and insight into how organizations remain agile and operations remain relevant during times of tremendous organizational growth and evolution. Ideal candidates will also have a strong background in the use of data and analytics to guide management and operations and unique experience guiding educational operations through the use of predictive enrollment models and forecasting enrollment tools.
