We encourage applications from candidates interested in helping us achieve this vision.The Senior Assistant Director of Financial Aid is responsible for Title IV verification, electronic data exchange (via EDExpress), Student Loan Programs, Federal Pell Grant COD processing, and Veteran's Benefits. Administer of Federal Programs (Direct Loans, Perkins Loans and Veterans Benefits) to ensure compliance with federal compliance with Title IV regulations. Administer and able to perform federal verification procedures to ensure institutional compliance with Title IV requirements. Responsible for working with the EDExpress and EdConnect software interface with the U.S. Dept. of Education. Also responsible for data transmission with the College Board. This includes pre-award year testing of transmissions as well as successfully importing FAFSA and CSS Profile data into SCT Banner. This also requires resolving any rejected ISIRs, citizenship issues, and any other criteria for student eligibility as related to FAFSA data. Responsible for the certifying, awarding, and reconciliation of Veteran Affairs benefits given to students. Will be expected to travel to conferences for professional development necessary complete job functions. Maintain close communication with the Director concerning changes and initiatives associated with each program they are directly responsible. Advise and counsel students and parents concerning all aspects of the financial aid program at Rhodes. Responsible for certifying and reconciling all Federal programs, including Pell, SEOG, Federal Direct Loans, Perkins Loans and VA benefits. Develop financial management training and counseling opportunities for students such as exit counseling, entrance counseling and financial literacy. Report Pell Grant originations, disbursements, and reconciliation via COD. SCT Banner is utilized for this process. Work with the financial aid team and act as a resource for the Rhodes and Memphis Communities (students, parents, prospective students, high schools, community-based originations etc.) with questions regarding financial aid information.Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of three years' experience in financial aid with some experience with most Title IV or state programs. Computer software knowledge, including Microsoft Word. Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel. Also, excellent communication skills (written and spoken) are expected. Rhodes College offers an excellent benefits package and a great working environment.
