Job Duties: A Nutritionist is needed to provide comprehensive nutritional assessment, management, and education for the general pediatric patients, as well as pediatric patients with chronic diseases for the Pediatric Outpatient Clinical Services. This individual will be responsible for providing nutritional information based on clinical diagnoses. The nutritionist must accurately calculate diets, analyze nutrient intake data, and evaluate food intake records. This employee will provide one on one counseling services for patients and available family members during office visits or scheduled nutrition appointments. These sessions will be individualized teaching related to the disease processes and management. The nutritionist will be responsible for developing treatment plans in accordance to the development stage of the child. The selected candidate will work closely with physicians in the Department of Pediatrics to formulate nutritional management plans and work closely with residents, medical students, staff, and other learners while managing patients in the learning environment. Position requires a 40 hour work week, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and may require an adjusted schedule to meet patient needs. Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
