Manage academic area providing administrative support for the International Business & Strategy (IB&S) Group of the D'Amore-McKim School of Business (DMSB), which includes the Center for Emerging Markets (CEM), the academic direction of the Bachelor of Science in International Business (BSIB) degree, the Global Ace Assessment Center, and the School's business case competition management. Provide direct operational support for the IB&S Group Coordinator and the Director of the Center for Emerging Markets. Ensure effectively run department; systemize and direct all administrative/office services and project workflow for approximately 30 full-time/part-time faculty prioritizing needs and meeting deadlines, providing continuity of support for their teaching, research and service activities. Help introduce new part-time faculty to IBS resources. Support faculty with committee responsibilities, special projects and professional activities; coordinate meetings and events, arrange rooms and equipment. Ensure consistent and smooth running offices in collaboration with the other IB&S administrative assistant. by recruiting, training and managing of work-study students. Initiate and recommend necessary changes; assess, prioritize and turn around work to best accommodate expectations of individual faculty needs at scattered office locations (currently in 313, 314, 309, 304, and 319 Hayden Hall). Provide office atmosphere responsive to student needs by having a thorough knowledge and understanding of DMSB and University policies and procedures. Assist and direct student inquiries and respond to their concerns.
Minimum of three years related experience with a demonstration of increasing responsibilities. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Ability to operate in a multicultural environment required. Must have demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to a varying range of needs. Exceptional multi-tasking, organizational, and communication skills. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Must be able to interact with individuals at all levels with diplomacy, discretion, and tact. Must be a self-starter with an ability to work independently, and in a team setting, using sound judgment, and with a demonstrated ability to take responsibility of activities that arise and need to be taken care of. Dependability essential. Excellent proofreading skills with flexibility to adapt to new technology and various computer/software applications. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Must have excellent computer and professional skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and data base management.
