Advertised Job Summary: To conduct research on projects in models of cancer and obesity. The research will be aimed at determining the mechanisms linking obesity and cancer as well as examining the efficacy of plant products in preventing obesity-enhanced cancer. 1) Will examine the mechanisms linking obesity to colorectal cancer and breast cancer. 2) Routinely advises principal investigators, students, and other laboratory personnel on current methods, ongoing experiments and future research directions. 3) Maintains accurate and detailed records of laboratory experiments and presents these in informal laboratory discussions, group meetings, formal scientific symposia and publications. 4) Assists in training other individuals including students in the laboratory.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Requires a Ph.D. in Immunology, Physiology, Molecular/Cell Biology or other related basic science fields. Prefer strong experience in mouse models of obesity and cancer, molecular biology, metabolism, and immunology.
