Advertised Job Summary: The Director of Executive Communications leads a small but dynamic team of creative professionals to assist the President, Provost and other senior executives in telling the University's brand story through their unique voices across multiple platforms, spoken, digital and print, across owned, earned and paid media channels. The successful candidate will enhance the university's local, state and national reputation and image through the strategic planning and execution of written, electronic and verbal communications. The Director will serve as a key member of the Communications and Public Affairs leadership team, working with the Chief Communications Officer, Director of Brand Strategy and Director of Public Relations to inform and execute the brand strategy, content strategy and public affairs strategy. The Director of Executive Communications has a passion for creative, engaging storytelling; an enthusiasm for enhancing a national brand; a desire to advance the cause of public higher education; a creative curiosity; and, a commitment to life-long learning and professional development. Additionally, the successful candidate will maintain awareness of state and national current events and demonstrate the ability to recognize opportunities to engage at the intersection of the public discourse and higher education.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Bachelor's degree and three years of progressive experience working in a communications field.
