Advertised Job Summary: The Coordinator for Student Programs and Communication reports directly to the Assistant Director for Student Programs and Communication and is responsible for providing support for student programs related to recruitment efforts in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The Coordinator's primary responsibility is to oversee the student-run Undergraduate Admissions Call Center, which involves interviewing, hiring, training, and managing 20-30 student employees to staff the call center during the day. Duties will also include, but are not limited to: managing shift schedules to ensure full staffing, answering student workers' questions, and providing ongoing training and informational updates. The Coordinator will also provide limited program support as needed to the Telecounseling and Gamecock Connection (student volunteer) programs. The Coordinator will have a full range of admissions responsibilities, including answering phone calls; coordinating mailings; managing and tracking inventory of recruitment materials; limited recruitment travel; assisting with on- and off-campus recruitment programs; assisting prospective students who visit or contact the Admissions Office; and reviewing and making decisions on applications for admission to the university. The overall purpose of the Coordinator is to propose new and creative ideas to ensure that prospective students have been personally, effectively, and knowledgeably served, while working for the highest yield of enrolled students from the admitted group. This position requires some evening and weekend work and may also require occasional travel.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Masters degree in Student Services or related field, or bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience. This position requires some evening and weekend work and may also require occasional travel.
