Advertised Job Summary: - Cultivates relationships with prospective and recent transfer students to assist with their transition into the USC Upstate community. Works directly with students to accomplish educational goals including initial transcript evaluation and academic advisement. Key aspects include maintenance of the integrity of academic policies, while being a student advocate and fostering a culture of student responsibility and success, providing students with information about possible consequences of academic decisions, and creating plans of study. - Maintains knowledge of current degree programs, transfer articulation agreements, and transfer requirements. Collaborates with other campus departments as needed. - Provide monthly academic/career development programming for advisees. Teaches UNIV courses as assigned. - Maintains accurate data for reports and informed decision-making. Keeps advising statistics, work schedule, and other reporting documents up-to-date. - Manage follow-up contact with prospective students or students who are in danger of unsatisfactory reports.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Masters degree in Student Personnel Services or related field and 3 years related experience, or bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience. Successful background check is required.
