Position Summary: The University of Georgia Human Resources department is seeking applicants for an independent and effective Human Resources Consultant, specializing in Classification and Position Management. This role is investigative and analytical in nature, and spends a large preponderance of time researching details surrounding a position request in order to make informed decisions regarding Classification and Position Management. Classification and Position Management is responsible for validating staff position requests from across campus. This position spends the majority of time conducting in-depth position evaluations, which includes gathering all pertinent information and analyzing the validity/accuracy of each request on a variety of factors, including but not limited to: comparable internal positions, organizational structure, intradepartmental comparisons, and external market comparisons, face-to-face interviews with pertinent stakeholders, and benchmarking to peer and aspirational institutions.

Responsibilities: Conducts in depth position evaluations, market analysis, and makes determinations for decisions regarding position classification requests from campus. Services are provided to campus through professional individualized consultations regarding; - New position requests - Reclassification of vacant positions - Reclassification of occupied positions

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college/university with a Bachelor's degree plus four (4) years of experience in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
