Position Summary

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position beginning April 2018, with potential annual renewal subject to performance evaluation and availability of funding.

Essential Functions

The successful candidate will perform research on the chaperone activity of nucleic acids, write research papers and proposals, perform basic laboratory upkeep tasks with other members of the laboratory, and mentor students.

Required Qualifications

  • Successful candidates must be committed to or have experience working with diverse student and community populations.
  • Candidates are required to hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, biophysics, cellular biology, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will have performed published biochemistry or molecular biology research in the area of chaperone effects of nucleic acids, with familiarity in both in vitro and in vivo
  • Successful candidates must be committed to or have experience working with diverse student and community populations.

Work Schedule

37.5 hours per week, negotiable work hours.
