Tenure-track Position in Statistics



The Department of Mathematics invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty appointment (at assistant professor) with a specialization in Statistics commencing September 1, 2018. A demonstrated commitment to teaching undergraduate students is expected.


Candidates should have an earned doctorate in Statistics or a related field. Candidates should provide evidence of excellence in teaching and an active research agenda that would involve undergraduates and graduate students. The successful applicant will be required to teach both basic and advanced courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, will be expected to develop new programs and course offerings for the Mathematics Department, and maintain active scholarly engagement in their respective field.


Candidates with demonstrated ability in teaching a wide range of undergraduate and graduate level statistics and math courses, with an active research agenda in an area of statistics or related fields, proven ability to use statistical software in teaching and research, and related work experience are preferred. Applicants with an interest and expertise in Statistics, Bio Statistics, or related area are encouraged to apply. In extraordinary cases, as determined by the University, a doctorate degree will not be required.
