Position Summary:
Counseling Center. The Assistant Director of the Counseling Center assists in administration and the clinical services provided by the department on the Armstrong Campus. This positions is located in Savannah, Georgia.
Essential Functions
  • Maintains a caseload of individual psychotherapy clients; conducts student support therapy group(s); and engages in outreach and education activities.
  • Provides emergency response and crisis intervention, including on-call after hours on a rotational basis with other counselors.
  • Provides supervision and training to clinical personnel in collaboration with the Director.
  • Ensures the Center is in compliance with record keeping, maintaining electronic record system (Titanium), and track data.
  • Works collaboratively and effectively across departments and divisions of the University.
  • Engages in professional development activities in accordance with licensure, professional affiliation, and best practice standards.

    Minimum Education Required:
    Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work or Clinical/Counseling Psychology from an accredited institution; licensed to practice in Georgia or eligible to obtain licensure in the state within three months of start date.

    Five or more years of related work experience

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.
