Academic Advisor/Program Administrator of the Honors Program

Job Summary: The Academic Advisor/Program Administrator of the Honors Program is responsible for conducting administrative operations of the Honors Program in accordance with the program's mission to provide an immersive, enriched, and personalized academic experience for undergraduates across the university. These activities include advising students, coordinating course scheduling, assisting with program recruiting, planning and participating in Honors Program events, supporting the Honors Program's curricular and co-curricular initiatives, alumni outreach, managing social media, and representing the Honors Program with campus partners. The Academic Advisor/Program Administrator interacts regularly with students, faculty, staff, and other constituencies to promote academic initiatives related to the Honors Program. This is a full-time, at-will, exempt, administrative position that reports to the Director of the Honors Program.

Working Hours:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited college or university. A minimum of one year of successful experience working with high-achieving undergraduate students. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Ability to exercise considerable judgment in establishing and maintaining good working relationships and confidentiality of student information. Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills, and attention to detail. A positive and professional demeanor is a must. Ability and willingness to travel between and work at both the Chicago loop and Schaumburg campuses. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree highly preferred
