RESEARCH SPECIALIST B
Duties: The primary functions of this position are: measure the induction of IL-19, IL-24, IL-1, IL-6 and IL-8 by real-time PCR and protein detection methods; determine which signaling pathways regulate the induction of IL-19 and IL-24 using small molecule inhibitors and CRISPR knockout cells lines; examine the roles of IL-19 and IL-24 in cell survival and T cell regulation following exposure to genotoxic therapies; generate CRISPR knockout cell lines; breed, genotype, and care for genetically engineered mouse lines; and order, maintain and organize laboratory supplies.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in a field related to biology and/or cell and molecular biology, and 1 year to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. The candidate should have experience in quantitative real-time PCR, western blots, lentivirus preparation, shRNA-mediated gene targeting, CRISPR knockout generation, mouse genotyping and husbandry, and ordering laboratory supplies.
