Part Time Faculty, Dept of Special Education, Practicum Supervisors
Department Summary: Bridgewater State University is the largest of nine state universities in Massachusetts with more than 11,000 students. It was founded in 1840 by Horace Mann and is the nation's oldest stationary teacher-preparation institution. Bridgewater State University is a regional comprehensive university located in Southeastern Massachusetts.The Special Education Department at Bridgewater State University has been ranked in the top ten in the nation by Teacher.org. The department offers both Graduate and Undergraduate programs in Moderate Special Needs and Severe Special Needs Teacher Licensure.
Essential Duties: The Department seeks student teaching practicum supervisors to provide supervision in the following regions: Uxbridge/Mendon, Bridgewater/Brockton, Metro West and South Coast. Applicants should possess: - Strong commitment to excellence in teaching and to working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity. - Ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning. - Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required. Training will be provided by the department at the Bridgewater campus.
Required Qualifications: Masters degree in Special Education. A minimum 3 years of special education classroom teaching Focus or experience in moderate and severe disabilities. Willingness to travel regionally.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous higher education teaching experience.
