Job Duties: This position is part of the Benefits Unit and will report directly to the Director of Benefits. The Benefits Unit administers a comprehensive benefits package for a faculty and staff of over 5,000. Benefit programs include State and Optional Retirement Programs, tax-sheltered annuity plans, the Disability Income Plan of North Carolina, health insurance, a comprehensive leave package, NC Flex programs, as well as University sponsored supplemental plans. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an extension of the Benefits Director position in providing comprehensive benefits services to all employees. This position will provide information and counseling services, resolve all benefits-related issues, direct payroll sign-up, conduct benefits orientation for new employees, and conduct benefits trainings. Candidate is responsible for administering leave for all University employees including the Family Medical Leave Act, Voluntary Shared Leave, Faculty Serious Illness Leave, sick leave, vacation and bonus leave. This position also conducts Leave Workshops on leave policies.
